WHAT WE DO
We rehearse once a week during term time, working towards a multitude of different concerts and events over the course of the season. In our sessions, we explore a variety of repertoire ranging all the way from pop classics to musical theatre, to gospel, to choral classics and music from all around the world.
In recent years, we have won awards at the Mrs Sunderland Festival and hosted sold out concerts at venues across Calderdale. When we are not singing, we love to continue to build upon the friendships our Young Singers create through socials and celebrations.
OUR TYPICAL REHEARSALS
Our rehearsals always begin with a relaxed introduction - whether that's welcoming and settling new members into the family, sharing our favourite parts of the week or simply having a short group catch-up.
Our sessions are lead by our Musical Director Liv Muir, and our Assistant MD Macy Jagger, who are skilled in leading rehearsals for young people - ensuring they feel comfortable, welcome and supported in their musical development.
Through our rehearsals we learn music written by artists that our Young Singers love, as well as exploring music and sound worlds that may be new to them - working towards our aim of developing versatile and well rounded singers, as individuals and as a team.
