ABOUT OUR CHOIRS
Both of our choirs meet weekly on Thursdays during term time.
Rehearsals are held at Heath URC, Free School Lane. Concerts are held at various locations across Calderdale. Full details will be provided when you join one of our choirs!
CHILDRENS
CHOIR
6pm - 7pm
Ages 7-11
Our Children’s Choir is a relaxed group where young people come to explore using their voices, make new friends and build musical foundations in a fun environment.
YOUTH CHOIR
7.15pm - 9pm
Ages 12-21
Our Youth Choir is an SATB choir of developing voices, exploring music from a variety of genres. We sing in four part harmony at a number of concerts throughout the year.

MEET THE TEAM
LIV MUIR
Musical Director
Liv is a music director, arranger and composer with over a decade of experience leading choirs and singing groups. Although originally from Winchester, Liv's career is proudly Yorkshire-grown, having graduated with a BA (Hons) in Music from the University of York, an MA in Music Management from the University of Sheffield and having cherished relationships with several other choirs in the region, including Rotherham Youth Choir, Barnsley Youth Choir and Sheffield-based alternative pop choir Neighbourhood Voices. Liv is also Musical Director of The Groove Chorus' Sheffield choir, House of Charli. Liv is has recently finished a year as a Young Conductor on the National Youth Choir's highly competitive Emerging Professional Artist programme and they can't wait to bring this experience to HYS and be a part of the group's fabulous history.
Macy Jagger
Assistant Musical Director
Macy is a Calderdale born and bred Mezzo-Soprano, based in Manchester, working in Chamber music, Choral groups, Musical Outreach and pastoral care. Macy is currently studying a degree in Classical Vocal Studies and Opera as a Scholar at the Royal academy of Music, and soon the Royal Northern College of Music. She is Alumni of the Voces8 Future Talent scholarship, Opera North Youth Company, Chetham’s School of music and is an active member of the National Youth Choir of Great Britain 18-25. Having had a long association with Halifax Young singers, singing in the choir from a young age, Macy will be entering her second year as Assistant Musical Director at HYS and can’t wait to build on her musical experiences in the upcoming season ahead.
